    Taurus stainless 856UL

I just put one in layaway... I was thinking hard on a 3 inch model.. but I decided on the 2 inch barreled version...a bit more compact..
I held a 856 Stainless Steel model locally a few weeks ago ... I was told the UL models were hard to find ... But a bit a patience paid off
KYGUNCO had a few to pop up on their site today ... I have several revolvers so this was not a “I need “ but a “I want” purchase...
    which is my normal....

6 shot 38spl in a small aluminum framed revolver is a no brainer

I think you'll like it. I've got the stainless, and have nothing but good to say. Once we get some other things accomplished, I'm really lusting after the 3". Enjoy yours when you get it.

Yep, if it's like my stainless it will be well made and reliable. Never see any online complaints except unfocused T bashing. I have the lightweight revolver covered already by a 642 and LCR, so I'll probably not get the UL, but I would immediately if not.

    Enjoy it in good health.

I picked up one of these two years ago when CDNN had them on sale.
Wasn't really looking for one, but I couldn't pass up the sale price.
Now it's one of my best guns, and my wife's favorite.

I think Taurus missed the boat with the model 856 not being able to handle the 357 cartridge.

The extra hole making it a six shooter is nice but to me the model 605 with one less hole but capable of handling the 357 is a better choice.

But congratulations on purchase of the 856. Many years of enjoyment to you.

Theres just not enough metal between the cylinder walls of a 856 to handle the pressure of the 357mag ....and the 605 is a great carry 357 ...you can buy two 605 for the price of one S&W model 60
