    Taurus 608, 6.5" barrel - Holsters

I'm looking for a holster that fits my new Taurus 608. I just want a simple holster to use to store my firearm and to take it to the range. I thought Uncle Mike's would have one, but I couldn't find one on their site. I also checked the more expensive holster makers like Galco, DeSantis, Kirkpatrick and Craft. Can anyone here who owns this firearm tell me where I could get a holster?

    Thanks,

    Dan

Uncle Mike's Black Kodra Nylon Sidekick Hip Holster from amazon I believe a size 3 might work for you It's for a med/large revolver

I don't own one but, I believe a S&W L frame sized holster would work.

I have the Uncle Mike's Kodra Hip holster in size 53 and my S&W 66-1 with 6 1/2" barrel fits nicely! I've read recently that Uncle Mike's no longer carries the product in their line up but there may still be sellers on the internet that still have some in stock. If you can find one, I'd recommend snapping it up before they're all gone! It would be a perfect holster for the OP's stated needs!

You may not find a listing for Taurus 608, but any holster that is listed for a Ruger Redhawk or a Smith & Wesson 627 will hold a 608. I have a silghtly modified Safariland 002 competition holster for my Ruger GP100 and my 608 fits just fine.

Storing in nylon is OK, but leather will attract moisture and possible rust. Just something to consider.

My M608 and my M607 ride nicely in an Uncle Mike's #14 Sidekick. However, this holster exposes the trigger which may not be to your liking. With the retaining strap around the hammer and the fact that my finger is never on the trigger until my eyes are on the sights, I don't consider this a safety issue.

Any holster for a S&W "N" framed revolver will work.
