38 +P OK in my new Taurus 605?

Recently traded in my Rossi R462 38/357 snub-nose (safety recall) for a similar Taurus 605 (similar but 5 shot, not 6). The included guidebook seems to advice avoiding +P ammo (I still have some). Any comments about how serious this is? Thx.

Absolutely. It's chambered for .357 mag., so .38 +P should be no problem at all.

+P is fine. The 605 is nominally a .357 Magnum gun.

If It's a 357mag I don't see any reason not to, keep In mind the .38 Is a shorter round and would foul up the cylinder higher up than a 357 round and may make loading/extracting difficult but, proper cleaning would clear that up other than that shouldn't be an Issue.
Of course It could be some odd Issue with the cylinder It self you may want to call Taurus and ask If there's problem.

Sounds like they used the same book for the 85 as well as the 605 (or didn't correct for info from one to the other) since they are so similar, but as stated above the 605 is rated for .357 mag, well above 38 +P pressures
