    Weird 856 2+1

    Picked up this weird 856 a couple weeks ago. Barrel is too long.

    I read an article once that this is how the guns are shipped from Brazil to comply with some federal regulation.
    Once here, the import company is suppose to trim down the barrel to the proper size to sell.
    Occasionally, one slips through without getting trimmed.
    Not sure if that's true or BS, but I have no other explaination for that weird barrel.

    Like 777 said, they are imported that way because of the GCA'68 requirements for imported pistols and revolvers. There's a points system and part of it is overall size/barrel length.

    Rossi, back in the '90's, had a couple of models where they left the extension and ported it.
