    Picked up a little gem

I traded my NAA Guardian 380 for this old school 85 at the gun show Sun. I think dollar wise he made out better but give me nice bluing and wood and I'm happy. Does not look like it was fired much. No carbon at all on the cyl face although it could have been cleaned up. I had the side plate off to ck it out and do a little polishing but someone down the line polished the usual points already. There was some grease and brown stuff, maybe surface rust or dried lube, I cleaned out then re-lubed. Ser# starts with HA so I'm figuring 1988. Came with the original box that I thought was cool as it has a built in compartment for ammo. Really nice da/sa trigger on it. I think the ammo are reloads as I forgot to ask him. Mixed headstamps some say Speer 38spl+p or Winchester 38spl+p. So I'm thinking reloads. Maybe swaged lead bullets? If anyone has an idea let me know. Timing, lockup etc 100%. Cyl gap measures a snug .006.

Nice find, I'd make the same trade and walk away quickly, and happy

Great trade, Those NAA mini revolvers are overpriced IMHO. So trading one for an old school blued 85 is a great deal. Can't tell about the ammo, picture is too blurry.

Nice snubby! Congratulations on a good trade IMO. (I would be pulling those reloads however, they say that shooting someone else's reloads is like wearing someone else's underwear! )

It was the 380 Guardian semi auto. Glad I came across this one though.

Yep, that's a nice classic 85 you have there. Congrats !

I had one just like that, from a 1987 vintage. I carried and shot that gun for about four years, then stupidly sold it. One thing though...I never shot +P .38 in it.

You made out like a bandit. I'm envious.

As for the ammo that came along with it? I don't like shooting questionable reloads. They could be of the +++P variety. I'd toss it in with my rework pile.

Buy fresh ammo. Glove up. Shoot it. Have fun.
