Looking forward to the Defender 856 but will probably wait awhile for the price and availability to stabilize. I too like a three inch revolver and I’ll make the 38+p more effective. Does anyone know if the grips will be larger or still the grips used on the snubbie? Btw I’m new to this forum.
Welcome to the forum from Northern Illinois. Not sure of the grip planned for this one, but the new style combat grip with the bull's head that came standard on my 605 is more than adequate for even the 357 recoil and is well suited for a concealed carry handgun.

Thanks all for the welcome. Regarding the weight; I noticed on the Taurus website that the steel models will be 32oz and an Ultra lite weighs in at 16oz. The 32oz seems high since the 2 inch version of the 856 is 22 oz. I concur with a previous post that the weight is probably 25-27 oz. Does anyone know if a 357 version is coming or just the 38+p? I did watch the video and I’m liking the wood grip/SS finish. What’s your favorite?
BTW, does anyone know where you can purchase one? I’ve looked at the usual suspect (buds, gun genie, etc)

Wow....Love my m85 2inch. The 3 inch models with hi viz sights is awesome. Cannot wait to see what the real cost will be. Drool on my friends
Actually it's listed on the site at 35oz. There's no way that can be right as the dimensions (except for the barrel length) are the same as the 2".
I think they got the "3" in 35oz. wrong and it's actually 25oz. That's only 3 oz. heavier than the 2" which makes sense.
I like the VZ grip. The wood grip looks too slim to me (aesthetically) but only IMO of course.
