What I'd find desirable is a 605 Total Titanium with that 3" barrel and those Altamont wood grips.

I'm beginning to think that 35oz. stat is wrong afterall? The 16oz. 2" 856 REMAINS at 16oz. with the 3" barrel, but the 22oz. 856 goes to 35oz. with the 3" barrel?

    Doesn't make sense

I definitely now think that the weight is incorrect. The 692 3" is 35 oz. and it has a larger 7 shot cylinder, and is a "Medium" frame. The new 856 3" is a "Small" frame, so how can it weigh as much as the 692? The website comment on the 856 3" also mentions it is "lightweight". I wouldn't describe 35oz. as lightweight, especially if anyone intends to carry it.

I guess I'll just wait till it gets more attention and maybe a differing weight stat may come out. Sorry to obsess over this but I've been hoping for this model to come out - but if it's not under 30oz. I'm going to have to pass. The King Cobra, Kimber K6 and the SP101 (3" barrels) are all in the 25-28oz. range so I would think the Taurus would be too?

The difference in weight between the 2 inch and 3 inch Ruger SP101 is 1 whole ounce. (Information is easy to find, and the barrel profile of the Taurus is similar.) I expect that's very close to what we'll see with the 3" vs. 2" 856.

Obviously, they're still working on the website information.

Yeah, that's the only thing that makes sense. They probably mean 25 not 35?

If so, I'm down for one

Decisions, decisions. Those or a new Taurus 942 with three inch barrel. Got get both the 856 and a 942. That would make a great gun combo for practice and fun.
