Do all of the 856 models have a pinned front sight or just some of them? Obviously Garman's SS CH has a pinned front sight, but it's hard to tell if others do or not.

Mine is the 856UL and does not have a pinned front sight. It appears the CH (concealed hammer) does have the pinned front sight. I did apply some bright red model paint to my front sight and works quote well.

I never forsook the revolver. I carry mine all the time, mostly .38 and .357. I have autos, find myself only carrying them when I'm going to a big city. Even then I find myself wondering why I feel the need for firepower.

I bought the matte black version. That is the only version my Academy had in stock. I did paint the front sight and added Talon rubber grips to it for a little more traction. Probably have 400 rounds through it now. Its growing on me. Humm, what revolver to get next.

    856-Love it

I recently purchase a TX-22 and had so much fun, I decided to give the 856 UL a chance. Took it to the range recently, and had better luck with it than the previous J-Frames I had used.

Today, I received my new VZ grips for the 856. I love the way they look and fill my hand. The size of the grips helps fill my long fingered hand much better than the standard rubber grips. Very pleased with this setup.
