I have a Taurus Model 962 revolver in .38 Special. It is a nickel plated, 4", 6 shot model. It was imported by Firearms Int'l Corp of Washington, DC. I gather that FIC was actively importing guns in the 1950's but merged into another importer about 1960. Inputting the serial number in the Taurus serial number lookup function yields an error.
Does anyone have any more information on this revolver model?
In addition, even with the adjustable rear fight cranked all the way down, at 7 yards it still shoots about 3-1/2" high with 148 gr bullets and about 1-1/2" high with 125 gr bullets. Since it is plated, adding metal to the front sight doesn't seem practical. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the POI down or is it just regulated at 25 yards and I'm going to have to apply Kentucky Windage and live with it?
Thanks to all for any help.

I had the same revolver in blue. Had to build up the front sight to get it to print POA. I used some JB Weld. Taurus gave me a $200 credit toward a new Taurus if I would send it back to them. They consider them obsolete and not suitable for modern use. Might want to contact them....
