I recently bought a new 856 from Rural King for $169.99, just before they lowered the price by $20. It has a very nice trigger in both single and double action with excellent fit and finish with good accuracy. I am very happy with it and prefer it over my several semi-autos (TCP, PT111-0G2, SD9VE). I also have a 605 SS but the 856 seems to have less felt recoil with the same ammo.

I have an 856 and 85, both UL. Love them both, and carry is not an issue at all. I use IWB with a Houston soft leather holster at 3:30 and it's comfortable all day long. Only issue I had with the 856 is the backstrap texturing on the rubber grip is kinda rough and uncomfortable to shoot after several rounds. The grip on the 85 looks the same, but is no issue at all. Guess they changed the design a little for the 856.

Anyway, I switched the grip to the standard wood grip from the Taurus website. It's a LOT more comfortable. It's a little longer and may print a bit for concealed carry depending on where you carry, but it was a great upgrade.
    Forgive me if I

Also picked up a box of Sig V-Crown 125gr +p Jhp rounds. That was literally the only jhp ammo they had in stock for 38sp, not much else for other calibers, that (Sig) and Critical Defense was about it. Should do for now though, ive ran it in 9mm and it did pretty good. I am hoping to get to the range either tomorrow or friday and I will report back. Heres a little pic, isnt she purrty

Picked up a Bulldog J-Frame owb leather holster and HKS speed loader from Amazon for carry. The holster fits it just fine and carries really well, I love it. Heres my new carry setup Name: 65764666_10205956256621734_3925804969894084608_o.jpg

I got mine in stainless steel yesterday. An FFL special ordered it for me. It shoots like all the steel 85's and 605's I've owned - on target. I paint the front sight fluorescent orange. The Blackhawk speed holster for a J frame will fit it, but it will require some stretching. Those holsters are pretty good and not more than $40. I also have a Galco Combat Master. It is supposed to fit the Taurus 605 and the Taurus 856. The cylinder being slighter wider, it fits the 856 better. Surprisingly, both H&K speedloaders for a Model 10 and Detective Special fit the cylinder. Remington 125 grain JHP's run fine in the gun.

I have found my brand new 856 has compatibility with my SP101 holsters: El Paso saddlery Summer Cruiser, Galco fletch, Desantis nemesis size N3. No, I don't really pocket carry my SP101. I'd forget it was there

I really like your setup you chose there my only thing I would say is make sure you get lots of practice with the speedloaders especially that HKS as they have a rough time getting past the grip on these models sometimes! Otherwise I love it all!

I frequently carry my Ruger LCP, holster, right pocket. And sometimes I forget it's there! lol. That is one little gun! But that's why I bought it. I had feeding problems with it at first, sent back to Ruger they repaired it and now it is eating everything. I take it to the range and empty it, 7 shots of Federal .380 Mirco and then put other similar rounds through it, no problem. BUT!! I should have my new Taurus 856 Ultralite in a week or two and cannot wait to have a 6 shot snubby. I have carried the SW 640 for years in a ankle holster and IWB and it was fine but now I think it is too heavy. Thanks OP, good luck, great gun (Coyote's are usually pretty rude (-: )

So far I have found a Fobus paddle holster for a Ruger Lcr that is confirmed to fit (MrGunsnGear video)
Tagula makes a interesting holster .. I will post some pics. I picked it up at a LGS ,

Id look at a 856UL .... For SD carry ammo I like Federal 130gr HST .. But it is +P .. I like Hornady 110gr FTX standard pressure...
Or Underwood 150gr DELWC ( Double end Lead wad cutter )

And remember theirs a rebate on the 856 now ..
