Grip suggestions for Judge Poly Public Defender

Not sure why but I have been on a revolver kick lately... Picked up a few new Smiths... especially loving the Bodyguard 380 with integrated CT laser... LGS had a sale and scored a new one for $249 last month...

Also picked up two Taurus revolvers... Always loved the 85/856 and already have a model 44 and a 7 shot 6" .357, forget the model name... Anyway, I went and picked up a .357 Poly Protector and a Judge Poly Public Defender...

Love the longer grip on the .357, it seems perfect, and if I need a little smaller to conceal, I have the Smith J frames...

So it's the Judge Poly that I am looking for a larger grip for. This is my night stand gun. I figure that 5 rounds of PDX rounds will slow someone down, and it's a foot away from an 8+1 12ga shotty in case something goes bump in the night... But the shorty ribber grip, not digging it for the Judge. So I popped my longer .357 grip on and it felt perfect.

So, is there an aftermarket grip I can get, or does anyone know where I can score a second of the longer poly protector 357 grips?

I see Pachmayr has one but nobody seems to have them in stock... Pretty much striking out wherever I look... Any idears?

I knew about the Pachmayrs and was going to suggest them, the Diamond Pro specifically, and they cover the entire grip frame. Maybe try a google search, I don't believe that Midway has them, but maybe Graf & Sons or Natchez. Amazon and ebay are also worth a try.

Found one. The Hogue Monogrip made for the Taurus tracker slides right on, you just need a longer bolt, the one it comes with is too short. You need the same thread and pitch, just 40mm long.

Oh, and you can see a tiny bit of overlap where the soft side extends into the trigger area by a few mm. I trimmed mine with a razor blade after I took the pick.

Looks more balanced now and it's not as wide as the Pachmayr, so it should carry a little nicer. Just enough to get a full grip and the groves lock your fingers in place.

No modification to the gun or grip, other than that tiny bit of trimming near the trigger and a longer screw.

I took the "long" grips off my 605 Poly (it came with two sizes).......

    .....they are directly interchangeable.

For comparison purposes, here are the shorter ones:

I considered that, but I preferred the long grip on the .357 to help control recoil.
