Thumbs up Taurus 692 Multi-Caliber Revolver

I just ran across this a few minutes ago and am hoping one of the attendees of Shot Show 2018 will post video of it in the next few days. So many great firearms have been released recently by many companies but this is one of the few that has my attention.

Now that's interesting. I like the non-fluted cylinder.

If they ever make it to the stores, I'm getting one.

Ruger makes single action revolvers that are convertible like this. My nephew has one, and I thought I'd like to get one too. But now, if these do become available, I'd prefer the Taurus. Double/Single Action.

Seems like all the rumors are coming true.

kinda reminds me of an old ruger i had - came with 2 cylinders. 22 mag and 22lr. i havent seen the 22mag cylinder in years. guess i lost it when it didnt get used. would probably end up losing the 9mm cylinder too.

for those more knowledgable than me - is there any advantage to using 9mm in a revolver.
The advantage is cheap practice. 9mm is a lot cheaper than even 38 special. So one can get good trigger time on their gun without a lot of cost and recoil. Sure the 38 special can fill that role, but again 9mm is still cheaper.

I found it on the TaurusUSA.com web site. Just search for 692 and the four models (blued & stainless - 3" & 6.5" barrels) show up. I think this one is a lot closer to release than I imagined. I am glad they went with 3" & 6" barrels. Looking forward to owning at least one of these!

    New model 692 looks interesting

The 9mm option is appealing to me, since I can usually find a sale on 9mm ammo.

Despite all the bad things going on with Taurus this revolver definitely piqued my interest. I primarily shoot 9mm, but do occasionally shoot both .38 and .357 with my dad's revolvers. The 3" model seems like it would be an ideal length for carrying and accuarcy. I almost wish they went with 3.5" or even 4". I'm going to be watching for this to be released, hopefully the price will be within reason.
