    Exclamation Problem Disassembling Taurus PT 24 / 7 G2 C

    Hello,

This is my first gun, I'm brand new to this.

    So A few days ago I picked up my Taurus PT 24 / 7 G2 C.

I had previously disassembled it a few times, but for some reason I can't break it down now.

I showed it to my brother and he must have done something to it because now it's weird, its stuck in some weird state.

Before I was able to put an empty magazine into it, pull and release the slide and after a trigger pull I would get a click, but now after pulling and releasing the slide the trigger stays half way in the single action mode, or is it double action? Not sure but it stays that way now.

When I pull the slide back a little and pull down on the disassembly latches and pull the trigger the slide doesn't come forward anymore.

Can someone please help me with this? I haven't even fired the thing and now its in some weird state.

    Thanks.

Update I was able to pull the slide off of the gun but it still seems different to me.

Before dry firing the gun clicked but whenever I pull the trigger now it stays stuck halfway.

How can I correct this, or is this ok and will it fire when there are rounds in it?

    I own the same pistol.
    1. make sure gun is empty
    2. pull slide back partway
    3. pull down on the small levers on both sides of the gun and realease the slide (keep the levers held down)
4.pull the trigger (with levers held down)
    5. pull the slide straight off.
from there take down is simple, and then put the slide back on just by sliding it on. There are plenty of vids out there to watch as well. The takedown of this gun is very similar to that of a Glock.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

HEY! i think I just figured it out! I just encountered a problem putting it back together. If the slide is off, and you pull the trigger, the gun will not go back together unless you press down on the saftey and De-cock the gun. I hope this helps you, because when it happened I instantly came back to this thread!
