    the new repair policy

if i understand the new repair policy,

any gun sent in to taurus usa for repair will be destroyed if a part cannot be found or made in 2 months. and the poor ownder will have to either purchase a new gun or go home without one.

the thing is, the most loved/collectable taurus revolvers are no longer made. whos going to send their 12 inch target silhouette raging bull in say 22 hornet or .218 bee to have a structural defect fixed, when they know that 1200 dollar pistol is going to be smelted down and they really wont have any options on a replacement?

Respectfully, where in the world did you hear or read about this "new" repair policy?

With the experiences I've had with Taurus, I'd have to question the source of your information.

    Re: the new repair policy

I believe the new policy is that if they can't fox it within 45 days, they send you a new one.. idk the details of how it pertains to older guns... that's something you'd have to ask Taurus..
owning a gun doesn’t make you any more an armed citizen than owning a guitar makes you a musician, in both cases, practice makes near perfect!!.

Not sure where you are getting your info... but i would assume. That knowing Taurus the way i hve experienced them. if your gun was in an unsafe unrepairable condition they would advise you and you would have a choice to pay for it to be shipped back or maybe purchase a replacement...
Here is the Taurus repair policy....

Taurus International Manufacturing Inc - Repair Policy

Our Unlimited Lifetime Repair Policy extends to all Taurus firearms imported or manufactured by Taurus International Manufacturing, Inc.

But no one’s perfect, right? Guns break sometimes. Say your 24/7 needs fixing. Ouch…that used to be pucker time. In the bad old days, that meant launching your heater into a Floridian black hole. If you were lucky, it reemerged in 3 months. And if they didn’t have a part your gun needed (yikes!), it could have taken up to a year for it to reenter the atmosphere.

No longer. Now it takes about eight days to fix your firearm. Including shipping, door-to-door turn around time is under two weeks. And if, for some reason, they can’t get your gun fixed in 45 days, they send you a new one. Simple as that.

Can you imagine the hue and cry that such a policy would generate? Goodness.

Can you imagine the loss of sales and revenue that Taurus International would suffer?

I will not quote the whole thing, that the OP posted. BUT!!!

It appears that he got an internet earfull, from either THR, or GlockTalk or some such place.

You can see the official listing on web site for Taurus, and also the review from Mod visit to the factory!!!

But a lot of people are 'followers'....and when they hear things, they believe them....
They will not spend time looking for truth, damn, that's a bunch of work !!!
    It's easier to stop by somewhere.....even here....spew out here-say.....and if...IF
someone agrees.....you now have a new friend.....
Kinda like Amerika these days....just put your hand out, someone will put
something in it...FOR you, you don't have to put out much effort.....God forbid
you would have to give in return.....[sheeple]
Troll...maybe. Dumbass...yep, couldn't even read the NAME of this forum....
or at least, [again] didn't put forth any effort to read anything here and what
the general consensus was.....[probably on a bus now, or in a van, heading for OHIO]
If you want to view his OP in the most negative.....he just called everyone here 'stupid'.
Sorry all,......just struck a nerve.....my apologies. [I'm sure he meant well]
