    Taurus Grips for PT92 Compact

I saw a great deal on Taurus'' web site for checkered wood grips to fit the 92C for $10.99 so I ordered a set. The shipping was ridiculous at $9.50 but that's a separate rant. Grips arrived in the mail yesterday in an envelope. Grips looked great and I couldn't wait to put them on my pistol. The right grip fit great. The left grip was another matter. The screw holes didn't come close to lining up, the upper hole was almost an inch above the distance on the old grip and the clearance was incorrect fore the decocking lever. Now according to Taurus I have to send the grips back ON MY DIME AND THE ORIGINAL SHIPPING WON'T BE RERIMBURSED. TO TOP IT OFF, THEY STATED ON THE INVOICE IT WILL TAKE 90 DAYS FOR MY CC TO BE CREDITED! I can honestly say the 92C will be the last Taurus product I'll ever buy. It's a wonder that they stay in business at all. OK, rant over.

Not that familair with the 92 Compact but did they make a non de-cocker model and later a de-cocker model in that weapon?

It's my understanding the 92C was only made from 1991 to 1994. I can't recall seeing anything that states there was more than the one model.

Looking at the two photos...that would seem to be the difference according to the spacing of the screws.

If their ordering page was wrong, they should eat the postage...if you ordered the wrong ones from the information they provided, then your're out a few bucks.

Maybe you can put them on Ebay and even make a few dollars on the deal...of course you have to pay Ebay their 18%.

    OKEY-Dokey!
and so now we likely know why they don't fit!
wrong grips for the gun. there is a difference in the grips then for the de-cocker.
see there is a Advantage of having a thumb safety. de-cocker on the slide!--LOL.

Taurus doesn't seem to state which gun they fit in this ad...but they do show a photo of what they are selling.

The grips they sent me are for the safety model so the screw holes are farther apart. Their web site doesn't state what model the grips fit and only specified "58, 92C".
