The standard "promise" used to be six weeks and they mostly used all of them. It could be the Rossi recall screwing things up, although there is apparently no rush to get that resolved.

Hey Native Texan, I cuss at spell checker too. I even let Siri have it one time. She told me to go kick myself!

My S&W MPs have a “peep hole” cut between the slide and the barrel that I rarely notice. In fact, I was not aware of the LCI on the G2C until I bought it and cleaned it the first time. I’m not so worried about it for safety purposes. It’s just the fact that I payed hard earned dollars for something that is defective right out of the box. I actually took it to the range for the first time last night and it ran like a champ. Taurus customer service suggested that if I shot it the LCI might “unstick”. It didn’t, of course. Bottom line is if I can fix it with the replacement parts I will be happy. If I never get it fixed I will live with it and be a little pissed. Not sending it to Taurus for 12 or more weeks and risk them finally sending it back unrepaired. Things certainly could be worse.
The LCI is a nice feature on the G2C. I imagine myself at home, at night, and I hear a "bump in the night". I grab my G2C and start heading out of my bedroom to investigate. Suddenly I think to myself "Am I sure there's a round in the chamber?". Do I turn on a light to see the round? Do I rack the slide, making noise and possibly losing a round in the process? With a G2C and a properly working LCI, all I have to do is run my finger on the top of the slide and I can feel the LCI in the dark.

Personally, I've always had good response from Taurus Customer service. They sent me a new recoil spring in just 3 days; and they repaired and returned my PT-111 G2 in just 6 weeks (it needed a new trigger blade-safety). They did take a full 12 weeks on a PT-738 that I sent back, and then said that they couldn't fix it, and offered me a new Spectrum as a replacement. I asked if I could get a G2C instead, and that was approved. Two weeks later I had a new G2C.

^^ Historically a replacement of a gun takes much longer as they convene a review board to discuss and approve IIRC.

From past post I think that you are correct!
Now of course I personally have never understood a review Board?
I mean either you have faith in your gunsmith and their supervisors as to making a repair/replacement or you don't?
so IF you have faith in your gunsmith abilities why do a group of non gunsmiths need to review his/her opinion?

My thought also..unless the board is made up of gunsmiths...which could explain why it takes so long. They are underwater and overworked already fixing things that should have been caught off the line.

Yea, I guess that I knew and demanded that my Firefighters either knew their job or learned their jobs.
IF one of my Drivers came to me and said Captain the K-12 rescue saw needs repair as the clutch is burnt up, well I didn't see the need to go behind them and check it or to doubt their abilities to do their jobs?
plus to do so kind of undercuts the moral of a competent worker.
But hey I am old school I guess.

[QUOTE=NativeTexan;5429189]Good luck getting parts from Taurus.

i have chatted three times with Taurus, each time I got my parts at no charge. I received a recoil spring assembly, set of sights and firing pin and striker spring. I asked to buy them for a just in case moment but the guy twice and a nice lady once just said no problem i'll just send them to you free. A+ service for me anyways from Taurus
