Why does Taurus ship new guns that don't shoot?

I waited forever to get a 709 only to find out I got one of the "bad ones." What a joke. If this was a TV set I could return it for credit or exchange for a new one.

Taurus should have thousands of 709 "refurbs" for sale a reduced price. Instead, the refurbs are in the hands of their customers who took a chance and had to send them back for repair... WTF?

At least Ruger has recalls - right?
I'm not a flamer, but feel obligated to tell it like it is. After all - these are GUNS!

How about some details on what is actually happening - or not happening?

    That's not very descriptive.

Tell it like what is? After all, these are mechanical devices and sometimes mechanical devices have problems, no matter who makes them. There's nothing magical about guns that makes them any different. And then there the significantly large number of "problems" that turn out to be "operator error".

Unlike TVs, handguns are Federally regulated.. Have you ever had to fill out a federal form & get approved by the state to buy a TV?? I think not..That's why you cant send it back for a new one.

Re: Why does Taurus ship new guns that don't shoot?

To address your original question and not throw rocks at ya' so close to Ho-Ho Day ---- as detailed in the 'Subject Line'....................... Production firearms, large quantities, paying CS reps minimimum wage to answer the phones and the "gun smiffss" even less to pretend they fix 'em, COULD be why some don't shoot. Yet, when they work -- they seem to work for a LONG time.

So? What does, "don't shoot" mean? No kaboom when ya' yank that hangie-down thing that's inside the hookie-lookin' thing on the bottom of the gun? Mo' info needed to properly MIS-diagnose problem; please supply ASAP, OK?

Who's that Einstein guy? He take Morrisons place at the top of pile?

ACE5000? You not comin' back out to play? It's been a week! No shame in figurin' out that the "don't shoot" was caused by failure to insert ammo-u-nition into correct place. I did that once ... after Jack and Daniels and some Tijuana Tobakkie! Ya' musta gotit all figgured out, huh? Hope so! Melly Clistmas!

Another one hit wonder I guess.
    Old age isn't for sissy's!!
Don't give up the ship!! Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry!!
Due to the rising cost of ammo. A warning shot will NOT be fired!!
