Will I need new grip screws?
You don't necessarily have to replace screws. It's really just a matter of fit. It's not uncommon for my latest 1911 purchase to receive an upgrade in the grip department. I've never had to replace the screws as a result. Check out VZ grips.

The OEM screws for the PT-1911's are slightly larger in head diameter than other screws. that will prevent them from dropping into the replacement grips as they should. I would spend the money and get a replacement set of grip screws that you like. They have grip screws with just about any conceivable pattern and design.

OR--Counter sink the grip holes a tad.

When I put the pachmayr grips on mine, I opted for new screws with torx heads. Just to be different.. they were cheap, too.
