    New 1911 Commander

So during Rural King's Cyber Gunday, I decided to buy a Taurus 1911 Commander. Great looking gun, no battle rattle, and I can't wait to shoot it. I got it for $419 out the door, $379 + tax + $12.99 shipping. So today when my order of Ballistol showed up from Amazon, I took it out on the back porch to clean....... The end cap on the recoil spring is different than the one on my Ruger SR1911 commander and I believe it's somewhere in Ohio by now after launching. Yeah, I did dumb thing and looks like I am calling Taurus tomorrow to buy a new end cap.

Congrats on the new pistol and sorry about the orbiting part. If it didn't hit the Ohio river you might have a shot to recover it with a metal detector or magnet.

I've been outside about 6 times now with a magnet and later with a streamlight. it's about as gone as it can get. Lol. Think I'll get a couple extras just in case.

Thanks! i got a picture from the day I bought it and took one with it and my Ruger so I'll share those. BTW, does anyone know how easily and aftermarket guide rod assembly is to install? I know the end cap from my Ruger won't fit correctly and I really like the solid end cap better.

Was it closer or further than you'd originally thought?
