If you are getting it for carry then the CDP would be the way to go. It's 7 oz less weight, aluminum framed. The eclipse is heavy but stainless frame will last forever, well, a long time. The aluminum frame in my tactical seems to be holding up o.k. after 508 rounds through it but.... it's only 508 rounds. Either way in my opinion you couldn't go wrong as long as you know what your getting

Krunch, I can't quite make out what the commander 1911's are, what make are they? it looks as if the one on the left has a cerakote finish. Nice looking Pistola's
The one on the left is a Springer Compact 4 inch barrel with officers size frame, the other is a RIA CS-Tactical-same as a Colt Officers size.

Never thought of it as porn but when I see the right gun I can't look away and I may drool a little.

Here are a few of my 1911's,

Dan Wesson Pointman 9mm, this is the tightest gun I have ever seen, took 600+ to get it smoothed out enough to be reliable, very light trigger. It shoots way better than me!!

Kimber Tactical Custom II. It is my 3rd Kimber, over 10,000 rounds, 2 recoil springs and has never failed to fire. With Night sights and Crimson Trace Laser grips it is my night stand gun.

Of course what brought me to this forum, my Taurus PT1911. It has been a great gun, I have spent a ton more on other 1911's but none shoot any better than this one. I have changed a few things on it but only because I bought it for fun, and working and changing them is my idea of fun. Out of the box it looked great and only needed some sight work to shoot great!!!

Not a 1911 but over the last 8 months it has become my almost exclusive carry gun. Ruger LCR .38, with Crimson Trace Grips, With a Ken Onion designed Kershaw Knife and a SureFire E2D LED Defender light. It is a package I do not leave home without.
