Ironmagz, that is too funny! I have an R51 as well (a 2nd gen unit that I picked up recently, due to the $100 Remington rebate). I kinda knew full well that I am a beta tester for the R51. I am thinking of leaving it unfired, just to have as a collectors item, as I can't see Remington keeping them in production much longer.

I would leave the R51 unfired and keep it as a collectible. Sadly most reports seem to indicate that the Gen 2 R51 retains many of the shortcomings of the Gen 1, and it has already been all but confirmed that Remington will be discontinuing production of the R51, assuming they haven't already quietly done so behind the scenes.

It's a shame, really... I was actually hyped for the R51 and had been considering it for concealed carry, but then all the bad news rolled in, the guns were recalled, and even after a long absence the Gen 2 R51 failed to address many of the issues that plagued the original R51, so I just sort of gave up on it. I would have loved to have owned a Remington R51 in .40 S&W, but sadly they couldn't even get the standard 9mm Luger model to function 100% reliably. Guess that's what happens when you take a firearm with a unique action designed for .32 ACP/.380 ACP then try to modify it for more powerful cartridges.

That being said, I look forward to your range report of the Spectrum.

Earlier I was reviewing the photos of the Remington as I thought that there were many similarities in design...Thanks for posting them side by side. The size differential is probably the most striking difference to me.

Saw some priced at $229 online. Pretty good price.
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.

Thanks for the pic! That R51 trigger looks poised for business while the Spectrum trigger looks like uncle Abner's buck tooth!

So know the plan is to release the "house color" combinations starting in May. AND we've all heard the Spectrum is gonna come out in a 9mm version too. So my dilemma....do I really want/need ANOTHER 380 or just hang tight(yea...I have the patience of a 2 year old) and wait for the 9mm release...say in 2020????????

Yes, but don't you want a matched pair in .380 and 9mm?
