I have a PT 111 and tried it myself. Bring it to a gunsmith. Now that I have it for me (a lefty) I am having a problem with getting the magazine out with my left hand. Also my spring was just a straight piece about 11/2 inches long.

Reversing the magazine release on the TCP PT738

Make sure your fire arm is unloaded, set safe to foward position, pull the bolt back and let it lock open, turn rifle upside down, remove trigger group by pushing down and forward on the trigger group release with a punch, insert 10 round non-detachable magazine, replace trigger group and run a function chech.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.

Great thread. Just did this to my tcp. Used a really small Allen wrench for the sear without drilling another hole.

I was able to remove the spring for the release and reassemble while only removing the front pin. I used a 4” cable tie to compress the spring and snipped off the access. You are then able to put it back in place with a pair of needle nose pliers. Once you have the spring started snip the cable tie off and push the spring all the way into place.
