    Spring kit????

My recently acquired Taurus Model 761, 32 H&R Magnum has developed a "light strike" fault. Only 4 times in 100 rounds yesterday but that's too frequent. What spring kit should I look for? I've used Brownells kits in S&W revolvers but I found nothing listed for Model 761 from any of the usual parts vendors. I'm asking guidance and opinions here. The 761 was only produced for a couple years in the early 90's.
    Advice greatly appreciated.

Sorry I can't help you with your specific gun but maybe these folks will have something listed for your gun.

I would suspect a S&W hammer spring would work.

Don't know much about the 76X line. Does it have a hammer leaf spring or coil spring. If coil, I would bet any spring kit for model Taurus 82,65,66,85,605,905 would likely work. I pick those up on the web for about $11-$14.

After closely matching the springs from my Model 441 medium frame I am sure that the 761 is on the same frame with the same lock work as the medium frame 82, 66, etc. I'll order a spring kit and see, minimal cost involved and a good education acquired cheaply.

    Thank You!!

My guess would be to change the hammer spring as well. Have you installed your new spring kit?

I have a somewhat somewhat reluctant 9mm Makarov. My cure was Federal primers. They seem to be the most sensitive. While I usually use Winchester primers I keep some Federals around for self-defense ammo and the aforementioned PA-63.

Nope......I have been overtaken with other more immediate but less interesting endeavors. I'll get to the spring kit fun a little later this summer.

The resolution to the light strikes is built into the Model 761. The hammer spring is mounted with a tension adjustment feature and very simple to use. Pic is here as well as a pic of the Model 441 that does not have the adjustment feature. As well; the 761 has a trigger over travel adjusting screw, you can see it in the pic in the frame just aft of the trigger guard. Guess I should pay more attention the first time; huh? The 2nd pic is the Model 441.
