    Disassembling a PT145

I have a Pt145 that i love. When I went to field strip it the slide got stuck half way down the frame. I had to force the slide past the sticking point and when I did a little metal came of too. Yes the rails were lube using hoppes 9. Is this normal?

When field stripping the PT145, pulling the trigger as the slide moves forward is part of the process to avoid that sticking you describe. So no, that doesn't sound normal. Lubing with Hoppe's #9 isn't normal either, as it is a solvent. Unless you mean the Hoppe's gun oil of course.

Follow your owner's manual to the letter when field stripping the first few times. And always be certain your firearm is not loaded.
