Need replacement solution for 24/7 G2C Recoil Spring assembly for .40 S&W or .45 ACP

Mine is a little flakey and Taurus just doesn't seem to be able to produce one. I read a while ago that someone order a bunch of them...

To clarify, my 24/7G2C .45 ACP started having issues with going completely into battery when firing. Sometimes the recoil spring would hang somehow. I've fiddled with it and it will work fine while manually racking the slide, but after a couple of rounds, starts to hang again.

I've swapped the recoil spring with my .40 S&W (also 24/7G2C) and it works just fine (the .45ACP) but I have not tested the converse - if the .40 will work with the .45 recoil spring or not - didn't have any ammo with me for the .40 when I tested.

Good luck. I'm not aware of anybody making Taurus parts except Taurus, and I'm not sure you're going to get them to send you anything like that.

You might try a same size Glock recoil spring.
Battle of Wanat: 10 years ago last 13 July, 1LT Brostram was killed in combat killing the last enemy combatant in the outpost. The LT went to the point of decision and made the difference that turned the tide of the battle. The original investigation found the Bde Cmdr, the Bn Cmdr and the Co Cmdr at fault for dereliction of duty. If you want to see what a sarcastic silver star citation reads like, pull up the company commander's silver star.

Taurus will ship them - only $8 per, but it's the same old issue with Taurus - they just don't seem to be able to make extras. There seems to be one per gun made and that's it.

I didn't want to order a $30 Glock spring and then have it not fit...although it would be a reason to get a Glock 27...

I'll have to check my 10mm.

Just a thought, maybe a MOD could move this to a more appropriate forum that could provide possible solutions to this matter. Or may even lead to a member having a OEM GLOCK part that could be available for the OP to try.

If this remains in the Classified Section we are bound to be reminded that this forum is for limited responses to a item listed as For Sale, Want to Buy or Trade. Which I have no issues with. I do however see where this could also have some potential to grow with suggestions in an effort to help a fellow member.

“Historically, freedom is a rare and fragile thing . . . Freedom has cost the blood of millions in obscure places and in historic sites ranging from Gettysburg to the Gulag Archipelago . . .That something that cost so much in human lives should be surrendered piecemeal in exchange for visions and rhetoric seems grotesque. Freedom is not simply the right of intellectuals to circulate their merchandise. It is, above all, the right of ordinary people to find elbow room for themselves and a refuge from the rampaging presumptions of their ‘betters’.” Thomas Sowell

    Works for me :-)

I didn't get a chance to check the recoil spring on my G29 yet, but will do that today and report.
