    Deffinately the 12ga pump then. You can deer hunt with rifled slugs, bird hunt, varmit hunt, defend your home with shot, and theres no laws against open carry of long guns in Texas.

    In the handgun category, I'd have to keep the PT145. In long guns (strictly for utilitarian reasons ie: self defense and putting food on the table) The Mossberg 12ga.

    Is there anyone out there who makes 000 shot shells in .410? I have a customer with a Judge; he says he can only find 0000 shells, but I know that I read 000 on this board somewhere....

    My understanding is that Aguilla makes a very interesting 12 gauge round that is shorter and about 2/3 power than a standard 2 3/4" shell. That's all that I know about them.
