Still haven't heard anything from anyone at Taurus, Rossi. I filled out the form way back last year. This is going to be another *screwup* for Taurus.

Well it must be my birthday, not, lol. I got a Fedex return label in the mail with a letter that says to include the repair order I printed off way back last year. Hopefully everyone else will get theirs shortly.

Pretty sure I read of other people sending theirs in...weeks ago. I've not gotten my letter yet from Taurus, got the lawsuit letter from the shysters, and when I chatted 6 weeks ago they fumbled around looking for my file even though I gave then the order number.

Here's the latest from the Taurus/Rossi B.S. machine.

I did check into your service order, I apologize, but at this time we have no further updates as to when we will begin the actual repair process for the firearms involved in the Rossi safety notice. However, we are close to resolving this issue. Once again, I apologize and I assure you we will do everything we can to have your firearm repaired and sent back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience as we work diligently to complete this process.

Due to the open mediations as mentioned on the safety notice website, we are awaiting permission from the legal proceedings to move forward with this project and open the claims period. Once the claims period opens, the small number of revolvers we have in house will be the first to be repaired and shipped back

I will say this, I think it is a responsibility of our forum to always depict or announce our opinions about what kind of service and product product Taurus is providing for the public, as well as it's subsideries like Rossi. I have given very good reviews on some products, and been somewhat harsh on others. Our overall reviews on what a company should offer, should always be honest and well thought out, a reasonable assessment of what a company should offer for it's value and quality.

This is not bashing, but rather an assessment of the direction we would like to see the company perform at. I have never expected Taurus or it's subsideries to do any more than the average domestic firearms regarding product quality, service and parts. I have dealt with Ruger, S & W, Phoenix, Bersa, and a few others and the past three years, maybe four, have found Taurus lagging in both quality product and service support. I understand the company is a value oriented company, but no company is truly value oriented without parts and service support, and Taurus really needs to work on this harder than they do on cheap prices if they want to semble the way I felt about them when I first came on this forum 11 years ago. I feel it is our responsibility as the #1 spokesperson for Taurus when doing things right, to also be the first to tell them when they are doing things Wrong. For the past few years, they better spank their horse. They do listen to us, or at least they used to...seems like deaf ears lately.

I felt both lucky and relieved when I entered the serial number of my 851 into the website and got the "congratulations . Your revolver is not affected by the recall" ... or something like that. It's actually a great revolver but I know that finding parts, if ever needed, will be next to impossible. I can't even find replacement grips for it.

Transfer bars are probably the best, but hammer blocks are still a darn good approach. Rebounding hammers have their worth, too.
Could be that's why they don't make them anymore.
