I've been holding off mentioning it until it's actually received (still awaiting Taurus test firing in Miami) but yes, I agreed to having my R461 replaced with an M605 in matte black. MY FFL will be charging me $50 for the full transfer process, so I DO hope the $50 courtesy rebate goes into effect.

Does anybody understand what their talking about here?

"30. Rebound Slide - Hammer Seat Defect: For the blocking function of the hammer seat - rebound slide seat alignment to be effective, the seats or tabs must be aligned vertically and fitted together to be in close contact when the hammer is in the rebound position. This fitting will provide the maximum material resistance to hammer rotation from a drop or sharp impact. The Revolvers suffer from a design and/or manufacturing defect in that the seats or tabs, which are metal injection molded components, are improperly fitted or shaped. As a result, the seats are not aligned and are misshaped so that the hammer can rotate forward and fire a cartridge even when the trigger is not pulled."
Rebound slide does not have good contact with the hammer. Oversized forged rebound slide properly fitted will correct. Second defect is the side plate hammer block grove is wrong angle causing binding. I suspect this will not be fixed and warrant a replacement Taurus

Yet there are reports of revolvers that were repaired and returned.

Side plate defect is likely the reason for replacement. Rebound slide is fixable as this part is typically available.

My new Taurus M605 5 shot .357 Magnum snub-nose revolver, to replace my recalled Rossi R461, has arrived at my local FFL/Gun Shoppe. I dropped by and filled out the new 4473 this afternoon and paid their $50 transfer fee. I can take possession of the piece this Thursday any time after 3:00pm.

Taurus received my Rossi snubbie the 2nd of April, so the process took almost 5 months in total, not counting getting my original work order number back in mid September 2018.

Now I need to get informed about the potential for that $$$ courtesy rebate from Taurus.

That is crazy that the three day waiting period applies to a transaction which dates from the 2nd of April. I stopped in to my FFL a few days ago to do the 4473, paid him his 20 and got a receipt. Taurus is getting off cheap on the transfer and I am getting screwed for a 32.00 difference between what I paid for the 462-2 and the 605 I am getting in return.

Yea, that Mega Sports is outa touch. Was in there just 2 times over 15 years ago. They'll never get my business.

My experience with them has been different. I have bought several guns from Mega - phenomenal selection - I like the place. That's why I used them for the transfer even though it's about a 45 minute drive from home. My local joint, only 15 minutes away, is the one that's a real ripoff for transfers.
