    Rossi 351 .38 Special +P

Just acquired what I believe is a Rossi 351 .38 Special, made by Braztech/Rossi, used, from a friend who is going into an Assisted Living Complex, for Medical Reasons. As my usual penchant is for a high capacity 9mm or .45 ACP Semi-Auto, this is a bit out of the way for me, but not undesirable. I do own other Revolvers, but I only occasionally shoot them.

The Revolver is largely in great condition with the exception of the Factory Rubber Grips, which have somehow become discolored. I will be replacing them, most likely with the same Factory Grips, as I like their shape in my hand.

Anyone have any comments or recommendations on this Revolver?

Sorry for the Stock Photo, but I probably won't be taking any pics of mine till those Grips have been replaced.

Don't dry fire it without snap caps. It is +p rated & mine is darn accurate. The front blade is difficult to pick up on black targets so I recommend some bright green/yellow/orange etc.. paint. Walmart sells glow in the dark paint that works decent for around $2 a bottle. Seal it with a clear nail polish to make it water resistant.

PS the HKS 36A speed loaders work decent with this pistol.

From my 1st range trip sometime ago. I was having a hard time (hits in or near edge of outer black) until I found a green sticky note in my Range bag & stuck a piece on the front sight. (Clusters near center).

I have (did have) a Rossi 351 3". I gave it to my youngest son about 3 years ago. I really like the little revolver and shoot it quite well.

If you don't already know, and should you ever break the firing pin spur, a gunsmith can fit a S & W firing pin spur to it. I have never had a problem or had to, just info if it should ever happen.

The 351 compares quite well with the Taurus Model 85, I really have no preference of one over the other.

Thanks to all that responded, I will especially heed your advice on the Dry Firing!
The Glow Paint sounds interesting, as all I have on the front sight now is some Blaze Orange Fingernail Paint.

I now have a set of Grips for it on back-order with Rossi/Braztech.

Made it out to the Range yesterday and put a quick 50 rounds of basic Remington 158 grain RNL thru it, without issue.
I was quite pleased with it's accuracy at 30 feet.

Will update with a pic later, when I get the new Grips and fill the engraving/stampings.

I tried selling mine on consignment recently...glad it didn't sell. It's really a great revolver - functionally as good as my Smith and Wessons, but at a much lower price. I have eight Rossi revolvers, most of them snubnose .38s.

I got this 3 inch 351 for my wife last Christmas.

Shoots great - no problems. Perfect size to "hideout" in her unmentionables drawer for night guard duty hehe

Very very Nice 3 inch 351, RebelSoul! I do love 3 inch barreled Revolvers and if I should someday find a 3 inch 351, I'll probably buy it!

I just got the same pistol the same way more or less. Our family friend passed away after a short stay. Anyway its in very good shape, so now I'm looking for a spring kit. I have no experience with Rossi'. Typically I shoot .45's, 40s and 9mm. So do any of the wolf Taurus spring kits work for the 35102 ?? Tia.
