    Antique (?) Identification help please

My, auction impaired, brother brought this home and now would like to know what it is. It appears to me, to be a Progressive Shot Shell press but beyond that I am lost. The pictures below are the only help he has given me, so you know what I know. Any additional information he passes on to me I will post.

I agree with what it is, but other than that, I’d say it’s pretty old. I base that on it’s construction and not the rust.

From the color of the paint (orange) it appears to be an older "Lyman" progressive shot shell loader

Wow! I guess I would try to locate a model and/or serial number and Google those along with the words shotshell loader. Send a photo to Lyman and ask them also...they may want it for their museum!

Those Texan reloaders were built to last forever. They were made in Dallas during the late 50's to early 60's. They were high dollar units and reloaders back then reloaded to save money so they didn't sell in volumes the other popular manufactures did.

The people still using them say that spare parts can be only obtained by scavenging from other Texan equipment or by having a machinist make them. The value in them rest in their condition and number of accessories.

I wouldn't bother reloading shotgun shells, bird shot is so cheap You can shoot 100 rounds for less the $20, the main purpose of reloading is to have cheap practice/competition ammo.
    And shotgun shells are cheap.
