Cool My PT-99 Received Praise From a Gun Snob

While my wife and I recently enjoyed shooting reactive targets at the range with her PT-24/7, and my PT-99, an older couple we know began engaging paper targets not too far from us. The older man is a very skilled and knowledgeable fellow who builds beautiful hunting rifles, but his personal opinions regarding modern firearms, for example, are so inflexible as to be unrealistic. He adamantly promotes only "quality wood and steel, my boy. None of this plastic and alloy junk you find in cheap guns being sold these days"... This kind of gun bigotry; you mean what I know.

As I was engaging a steel plate at twenty-five yards with cast handloads in my PT-99 I noticed this fellow shaking his head. I could only surmise it was because he generally only shot slow-fire from a bench-rest at paper targets, and considered my off-hand shooting at steel unacceptable, because "it's what silly young people do".

Anyway, I took advantage of this opportunity to extend an invitation for him to shoot my PT-99, and was actually surprised when he accepted my offer. His beefier hands were comfortably filled with the Pachmeyer grips I had installed on it, and he really liked the very light single-action feature that he praised while accurately discharging fourteen out of fifteen rounds into a single small group.

I was delighted to see this older gentleman smile and quietly knod his head in reluctant approval of the high performance results the
PT-99 is capable of, even if it is one of them "cheap Taurus pistols".

That was nice of you to "share the joy" of shooting a fine Taurus pistol with another shooter!

Maybe you can convert this individual. I know that everyone who has shot my PT99 really like it and one of my friends is trying to convince his wife that he needs one.

This fellow only collects high dollar firearms. And even though he knows the PT-99 is a quality pistol, he would never purchase a Taurus firearm due to his fear of being ridiculed by his affluent peers... Besides, an expensive 1911 is the only kind of semi-automatic pistol he reveres.
