How what it's worth, I would try fittings these using your OEM factory screws first. You may not require changing anything.
I have often heard that "Change is Good". If this is a fact, why does history tend to repeat itself so often. I'm guessing that it is so we can learn from our mistakes that change is good?

I have a ‘92 101 AFS. I’m going on 75, and iron sights aren’t working well for me. Does anyone make a conversion to replace the rear sight with a rail? Has anyone had a gunsmith mount a picatinny-style rail on a 101. I know there are later 101’s with a rail, but I live in CA, and it’s illegal to bring a “non-certified” pistol into the state anymore.

What's the chamber and freebore like on the 92's, in terms of how short or long they like OAL's to be for reloads?

The box is in excellant condition with a manual and a pice of paper with life long warranty. the gun was in a cone shaped plastic bag with like a parshment paper. I paid 350.00
Mine has the "L" prefix as well. Was told by Taurus rep it was made in 1987.
