    TX 22 Sight Fell Off

Was on a short vacation where I took my new TX22 and found a nice gun range to use it. I returned home yesterday and when I removed my TX22 from the gun case to clean it the rear sight had come off! The set screw that holds the rear sight on was missing - the screw was not in the case. I'll call Taurus tomorrow to request a replacement however does anyone know what size this set screw is? Thought I might pick one up at my local Fastenal store. Also I think I'll use a little blue Loctite on the new screw!

    Thanks

The threads are M2.5x.45. As a lucky thing, an SAE 3x56 thread is also compatible. Ace hardware often has a "gun screws" drawer in their hardware area. They have a 3-56 black, slotted head screw that has a head that works alright with the factory sight. It is about an inch long and does need to be cut to length.

Thanks so much for the information! After numerous phone calls and emails to Taurus I've pretty much given up on anyone contacting me. In my opinion they have absolutely atrocious customer service - have they totally closed up shop due to Covid? Thanks again Alfonse!!

I just went to Fastenal and unfortunately they didn't have a set screw with the correct measurements. I was going to be in my vehicle for about 1 hour so I called the Taurus 800 number again and placed it on speaker. After 45 minutes a miracle occurred and a human being answered the phone - hooray!!! The lady was very polite and helpful - I provided her with my serial number and they will be shipping out 2 sight screws to me. Maybe their issue is they are extremely short staffed? Correct fix hire more people!!

With Covid-19 being on the loose many companies have cut back drastically, whether they want to or not, and can have only limited staff available. That's the new norm until further notice. Hopefully it won't last long.

Hooray - received the rear sight set screw from Taurus a few days ago. They included another rear sight with the set screw as an added bonus. I placed some blue locktite on the set screw so hopefully it won't back out. Even though it was a pain to try and contact someone at Taurus they came through when I was finally able to speak to someone.
