    2nd TX 22......HAPPY CAMPER

While visiting my LGS this morning, I saw a TX22 in their display case.
With the barrel issues most are having (including myself), I wanted to take a look at this TX's barrel.
    The owner welcomed my looking.
Believe it or not, this barrel was PERFECT. Chamber was centered, bore's rifling also perfect.NO chattering or other
    defects.

For those who don't know, the 1st TX I bought looked like a 3 yr. old made the barrel. Chamber was off center, bore had no
recognizable rifling. Told the LGS owner and sold it back to them.

Needless to say, I snatched this one up and is now here at home.
I will see if anything bad happens (lead fouling) when I get a chance to put lots of rounds through it.

    I am a happy camper.

Nice score! Maybe Taurus is finally past the problems on the TX22.

I don't know when this TX was made, but the serial # range is 1PT0420XX.
If anyone knows how to determine date of manufacture, please chime in.

Mine has to be an early run. My serial # is 1PT0007XX. I'm currently working on a buffer to keep the spring from eating it's seat in the slide. A thin .02" plastic washer made from polycarbonate is holding up well. Delrin cracked.

    So, super thin plexiglass?
If you make a working buffer, I'll be happy to buy a few.

    Carry on................

Yep, went to the hardware store and also a nut/bolt specialty place in search of a very thin washer that might fit in there, but no luck...Taurus should have put one at the end of the recoil spring...

On a related subject, once again, 16 rd. mags for the TX are impossible to find.
Taurus says they are on back order and vendors are out of stock.
If I lived in a Commie State, the 10 rd. mags are everywhere, and I could stockpile.

Come on Taurus, step up mag production.

I'd buy a couple of the ten rounders, just because.
