I have a 917 that I bought three or four years ago from a competitive shooter who used it as his backup pistol. Love it. Holds plenty of rounds but has been fitted with adjustable rear and front sights which limits how I can carry it. Here is what it looked like in the ad when I bought it. The mags are professionally milled Beretta M9 mags: The guy had removed the safety so when I replaced it, I tricked it out just a little.

Last year (or the year before) a bunch of new 917s hit the shelves...so I'd keep my eyes open...it could happen again. You can keep an eye on GunBroker. I like to keep a check at Wholesalehunter.com (I'm not affiliated in any way, but they are located a couple hours from my house). They have very little in store inventory but you can see how many of each are available from their supplier. If they can get them, your local gun shop should be able to also.

I picked up my 917 NIB at a local pawn shop it is the non-railed version. Another shop located about an hour from my house had a new stainless model that I had the hots for, but I didn't get it. When I changed my mind and went back, it was gone...

    Good Luck!
