    PT92 Police

I found a couple very old posts on TA on this but not much information. A local pawn shop has one for sale. Does anyone know the history/background on this model?

There are "four boxes" that can be employed to resist the downfall of America, the ballot box, the soap box, the jury box and, lastly, the ammo box.

I'd run the serial number through the Taurus web site and get a "real" model number. That may help with an Internet search. You can always chat/call Taurus, but likely they won't have any more than the serial number lookup will tell you.

    NICE looking gun!

Great looking gun... Being DAO would make it quite rare. The DAO would be a disadvantage in accuracy for me.

IIRC, the only DAO PT92 was the police model.

Well it's $399 OTD if anyone's interested. Th new water heater I just ordered is a little more than that so I'm out. I'd love to have it.

Hmmm. Heater vs. waterheater. I don't know...

I suppose the wife would weigh in on that decision. Heck, if I was in Monroe, VA this weekend...

Back in the early 1990's there was a limited run of DAO PT92's imported and intended strictly for the Police Market. I had the option to buy one, as at the time, I served as a part time Armorer for a couple of local Law Enforcement agencies. I opted for a regular DA/SA PT92 instead.
