    PT845 heavy trigger pull

I have had this pistol for about 2 years and have about 300 rounds through it. Always thought the trigger pull was heavy but use it as a range gun and not in competition.

Today I was at the range and someone had a trigger pull guage that used to check it. had the hammer cocked back and it measured just over 10 lbs.

This cant be normal t have this much trigger pull?

What can I do to lighten this trigger up.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

This is way way out of spec. In single action mode, the trigger pull should be close to 4lbs (if not less). I think you might need to contact CS, ask to speak to a Tech & see what they say. My bet is they want you to send it in. I own (4) PT845's and none of them have a trigger pull like you are describing.

what does taurus manual list as production weights on trigger?
Taurus Is not a highly refined/polished trigger assembly so generally several hundred rounds may improve the function, 300 rounds is like a new weapon shoot it and see if it gets better.
have you ever throughly cleaned the inside of the weapon?

I personally don't won't to mail anybody my guns & wait any length of time without them. So I would pull it apart & find the issue, probably a burr on something..
The 800s are fairly simple to breakdown & I would investigate what the issue is, something on the sear or other trigger mechanism part.
Just be very careful of doing anything to the sear beyond polishing the surface.
