I have officilly gone to the dark side: Glock 17 score

The wife and I were out running errands, and i decided to hit one of the local shops. I sold my Sig P220 at the range for almost triple what I paid, and had already picked up a Ruger PC 9mm Carbine. I decided to give Glock another shot. The last one I had experience with was an old Gen 1 I was loaned while doing armored car work until I got my own weapon. Most of the new ones were out of my budget, but my old friend said he had one I might be interested in. He goes in the back, and comes out with this.

A NIB Gen 3 Glock 17 with night sights. The date stamp on the fired casings is 2012. It has a grip similar to the Talon stick-on grip, and he seems to recall Glock added these to the Blue label guns upon request. It was still in the original case, the owner's paperwork still sealed, and the 2 mags had never been inserted or loaded. It still had the factory grease on the rails as well. The only thing missing was the lock.

Not a mark on it. Sights aren't as bright as my P220's were, but still working. I verified all the numbers match, so it wasn't a refurb or a mixmaster. Box has a red label on it, and numbers match the gun.He told me that Glock should cover it, as the warranty card was never filled out. He wrote it up as "NOS, Display Model" Here's what the grip looks like.

I got it for a grand total of $300 OTD. I have it all cleaned up, and ready for the range next week. The gun gods have smiled on me the last couple of weeks for sure.

Nice find I think you’ll like it. I have it’s little brother, the Glock 19.

Very nice find. It just sat there inside the box, in the dark, waiting for you. Go make some memories with it, and give us a range report when you can.
