I could start to hate Beretta

I've been looking at the 92X. What kept me from buying the M9A3 was the safety/decocker. I loved the feel of the slimmer and shorter grip.

They have the grip like I want, but they're back to the old frame mounted safety.

    92X Performance

I'm not too sure about the $1,400 price tag. I'd probably would spend that towards a CZ or Witness Elite.

    Just another disappointing thread title.

I thought we would be ragging on Robert Blake. Ho hum.

A $1400 price tag pretty much puts me out of the running. I hope someday I go insane, and my wife asks me what I spent my entire paycheck on....I'll point to the new Barrett sitting tripod'ed on the kitchen table, and she'll call the men in the white outfits to take me away.

Which safety/decocker setup do you prefer? Slide mounted or frame mounted? I'm looking at the Beretta sight and the 92X has models set up either way, frame or slide. Actually the only 92X model I see with the frame mounted S/D is the "Performance" that is stainless model.

I didn't realize Beretta was making so many different colors of the M9A3. Also I haven't really looked at the 92X but they have quite a few variations on that too like compact with and without a rail.

I have to add that I would be all over the 92X compact without rail! That thing is sweet!

Yeah, were I wanting something like that, I would just get a regular Taurus PT92, throw on an adjustable Rear Sight and Pachmayr Grips, a DPM Recoil System, and a Beretta Locking Block, and call it good.

A Cz Shadow 2 is very comparable in price, but can usually be found for less.
The TriStar P120 can be found for quite a bit less, but may require some trigger work and an adjustable rear sight to be comparable.
My TriStar T120 has been excellent so far, but I've not found the Trigger to be objectionable.

A comparable Witness Elite Stock II will only set you back $950, and you can go up from there: https://oakhillguns.com/pistol/eaa-tanfoglio.html

Yea I gots a couple of Berettas but IF I am going to pay that kind of money then I am going to be dating that other Italian girl--Tanfoglio myself.
I paid 1100 bucks for my Cz Shadow 2 and of course tax.
no way would I trade it for any 92--Period.

As crazy as this is going to sound, why not just a Taurus PT92 then have custom work done on it to make it more like the Beretta 92X?

It already has a frame-mounted safety/decocker and it would be a much more unique firearm once all was said and done, possibly even one-of-a-kind considering not many folks would sink a lot of money into tricking out a Taurus.

I have been mad at Beretta for years. I want a compact, frame safety, inox 96 .40 less than $700. I just can't feel good about carrying around a $1500+ side arm that's going to get abused by everyday carry, fishing, hiking, left in the truck when i can't pack it in with me. I have an 81BB cock and lock. Best they make IMO. I picked up a PX4 F .40 and like everything but the slide safety.
I have looked at getting a 96D compact and getting a frame safety conversion done. I'm well over a grand again. So many hand guns over $1400 that i would have but just can't find it in me to abuse it by EDC.

well 3 quick reasons from ME!
    1) customer service.
    2) voided warranty.
    3) resale /Trade value.
just what I want to do personally drop about 4-5-600 bucks in a taurus 92.

I'll keep my TH9c, thanks. 100 percent goes bang, accurate, frame mounted dual mode safety. Taurus haters go elsewhere, would say where, but wouldn't be nice and would violate guidelines.
