So, what about this one? Zastava M70A

A coworker of mine bought this particular pistol about 5 years ago, put two magazines through it, and then put it back in his gun safe...never shot it again. He tells me he wanted to sell it to help fund another purchase. I gave him 160 for it.

It is a Zastava M70A, in 9mm Luger. Took it apart today and cleaned it, seems like a solid pistol, and will try it out at the range on Monday. There is one fly in the ointment though, and that is the 9mm variant of this gun is almost impossible to find spare magazines for. If it were the original 7.62x25mm Tok round, they are easier to get, and this pistol only came with one magazine.

We will see come Monday, but it seems to be a nicely made, all steel gun.

Tokarev clone - not shabby at all! I'd have given $160 for it in a heartbeat! Good deal dude!

That change may take place as some of us Zastava fans are glad for. I have a couple of Zastava m57s in 7.62x25.
By the way that is a sweet piece you have there and you did well in the purchase of that beauty.

https://zastavaarmsusa.com/products/handguns/ Now, this sill not happen until summer and magazines will be offered. Summer is a foggy target. However it is at least doable.

They will have magazines for their products. Zastava Arms USA is also at Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/ZastavaArmsUSA/ I've been asking them some questions on and off over the last couple of months. You can ask them yourself if you do Facebook. Everyone please realize that this company is just settling in and new in the USA. Zastava is like Taurus in that they have branches in several other countries as well.

Very nice! A bit of research says caliber conversions are doable, if you'd like to tackle a project and end up with a fire-breathing round with easier to find magazines.

I thought you could use a 7.62X25 magazine with a slight mod to the front of the mag.? 7.62x25 is longer than 9mm.

.22 TCM works in a .38 Super magazine, and 9mm will feed out a .38 Super mag in a pinch.

Well, I thought about that, but I figured the magazine body would be too long to fit into the grip of this pistol?

These things have called my name for years.

I think the Tokarev design is the perfect example of "Elegant Utilitarianism". Simple but sexy and rock solid.

    I like them.

My quick look into whether conversions were doable made no mention of frame modification, so I'd say that either magazine fits into the grip.

YOU got yourself a great deal at $160. Its a well made pistol and 9mm is more desrireable than 7.62x25 which is harder to get.
