That's one reason I'll keep a LTC even if Texas passes constitutional carry. The LTC is a pass to get you in and out of the gun shop with that new Ruger without waiting on a computer to talk to BATFE.

Well, I went to the Academy site and they list the Wrangler as "new", price $199 and something, but neither the Rosenberg, Texas or Victoria, Texas locations (closet to me) have 'em. They both list 'em as "not sold". Maybe that'll change, don't know. I can always order one through my LGS, I suppose, but I really don't want one that bad.

I noticed some RRs on the site seem to have adjustable sights. That's interesting.

Maybe Ruger is raising the bar...driving the market.

Freedom has cost the blood of millions in obscure places and in historic sites ranging from Gettysburg to the Gulag Archipelago . . .That something that cost so much in human lives should be surrendered piecemeal in exchange for visions and rhetoric seems grotesque. Freedom is not simply the right of intellectuals to circulate their merchandise. It is, above all, the right of ordinary people to find elbow room for themselves and a refuge from the rampaging presumptions of their ‘betters’.” Thomas Sowell

RRs have had adjustable sights for years. If you go to their website you will see that of the 21 different revolvers they have listed, at least 5 have adjustable sights and some have steel frames (All before the Wrangler)

Part of the Brady Bill dealing with handguns. Struck down by the Supreme Court in 1997. Then came NICS in 98. I don't recall buying a handgun during those four years.

Used to be 3 days for handguns...1 day for long guns. Now it has been changed to three days for all guns. Some states, Maryland for instance, have a 10 day waiting period.

I don't ever remember having to wait. Perhaps it was my carry permit? I know I bought a Taurus 85SSUL and a Kel Tec in 1996, both over the counter at a gun shop in Victoria, Texas. I THINK maybe the 85 was before I even got my CHL in the mail.

I buy all my guns at gun shows, so don't know anything about paperwork, background checks, age limits or any of this other stuff, and I don't even have to remove my striped work crew suit to buy them!-----
