The Ruger Has Landed - SR 22 Got Here Today

Shipped on Wednesday USPS and was indicated in tracking to take until Monday. Too bad the pair of extra mags didn't get here today also, but that won't stop me from getting out tomorrow to give it a shake down cruise. Fit and finish is excellent for an inexpensive pistol. I pulled off the grip as I thought it shipped with the smaller one installed. It turns out that it was the larger sized one. If a person had large hands I could see them wanting a Hogue Handall or similar to bulk it up more. The other surprise was the magazine. I expected them to be more narrow, like a single stack, but instead the 22 LR stack in there like they are staggered. I've seen photos of other 22 LR mags and the rounds seem stacked with the rims staggered forward. The SR 22 has them kind of willynilly.

We're all cleaned and lubed and just awaiting the range to open.

My wife has one. Out really likes the high velocity stuff, not so much the lead standard velocity stuff.

But I'm sure you will enjoy it, they are pretty fun.

Looks great OP! Those are some of the most fun .22's out there, and loaded up with some Stingers, would work as a back-up SD gun too.

YEE HAAAAA. That lil sucker is a ton of fun for a small lightweight pistol. The first 20 rounds were into a target that the prior shooter left up at about 15'. I didn't take any pics of that one as it was a function run and I wanted to see how it ran and where the sights were. I was hitting about 3 inches high out of the box and fortunately had a small screwdriver along. One full turn brought it very close to where it needs to be..probably more tweaking later. Groups were excellent.

Then set of my own target and the center shots were at 20' and grouped well enough to blow a hole in the center. I moved the target back to 32' and aimed for the lower right target. The group widened considerably and I'll need more work at distance.

These were all single action and I find the trigger to be very adequate contrary to many of the reviews I've read. The last attempt was the lower left and I set the target back to 20'. I wanted to shoot a ten round magazine all in the double action accomplished by using the decocking function. It's a longer and harder trigger pull but not objectionable and while impacting accuracy, still permits fairly good accuracy.

I have a new love affair going and at least four more magazines are on the wish list.

Also brought the 995 TS which is also a ton of fun slinging 9mm. The second target is at 45' using the red dot reflex sights.
