First time out with my SD9VE

Well Thursday I finally got my new trigger installed on my new to me Smith and Wesson SD9VE.

I never shot it with the factory trigger installed so I don't know how I would have done with it.

The Apex trigger had a crisp break with little take up and almost no over travel. The reset was short and positive.

Between me and the people I was shooting with we put just about 100 rounds down range. No failures of any kind shooting 124gr American Eagle FMJ. Overall I'm pretty happy with the trigger and the gun.

Here's are a couple of pictures of the target. First is the second 20 rounds. The second picture is the same target with another 20 rounds.

Made for the very serious business of self-preservation - the 605 is built to the Taurus Zero Tolerance standard - in design, fabrication, fit and performance.

Great guns for the price. I've had a few of them and wouldn't be adverse to owning another one.

I had one years ago. Loaned to my daughter and never got it back. I wished I still had the darn thing. She tells me "Possession Is Nine Tenths of The Law".

SD9VE is an underated firearm, even the trigger can be dealt with with more practice ,Congrats on your new firearm ! I have yet to see any SD9VE wear out or break down and I spend a lot of time on the range,I would say it would even last as long as a Glock and I am not bashing Glocks only stating the obvious !

Looks like you had fun! I've been casually watching for one or a 40VE.

I also have a SD9VE in my stable. And I installed the Apex trigger in mine as well. The stock trigger was a bit much and I felt some help was needed.
