    Single Stack 9mm (Poll)

I want to toss out three options for a SS 9mm. Taurus is not an option for the poll, not that I don't like the Taurus single stacks (I have a PT709 Slim) but I want the other three to stand/fall on their own merits. I am conducting this poll on other boards but made the mistake of putting it on one board that specializes in Glocks and I wonder if the Glock fan-boys aren't invalidating the poll through bias.

So the choices are the Ruger LC9 (to include the LC9s, LC9s Pro and EC9s versions, the Glock 43 and the S&W Shield (either gen). In terms of reliability, function, accuracy, price, meeting your criteria for a CCW single stack 9mm...what would you choose? And why? If you have one, or more let me/us know what you think of it. If you'd like to add comments of comparison to Taurus feel free to do so even though only those three are on the poll.

    Appreciate your participation.

    Didn't vote.

The only single stack 9mm I own isn't listed.

I work at a gun range where we have the LC9, Glock 43, and the Shield for rent. In terms of customer appreciation, there isn't one of these that really stands out over the others...it all depends upon the shooters needs and hand configuration.

Now the small 9mm that has been incredibly well received, but isn't a single stack, even tho it's smaller than the Shield and 43 is the Sig P 365. It's just as of today that it will be in the state handgun roster, but already almost 2 dozen have been reserved by customers for purchase.

None of the above. Springfield Armory XDe would be my choice now days if I wanted such an animal. Honorable mention, Kel Tec PF9.

I voted the Shield, because I own one in 40. Same size as the 9. The magazines are stagger stacked, to get picky about it, but can still be called single stack. I'm impressed over all with the pistol, and can imagine the ease of shooting and reliability would be very good in the 9.

Most any board you post on will get Glock fans in droves. Not that they're bad guns.

I've handled all of the poll entrants, but only shot the Shield. I liked it, purchased one for my son on Christmas a couple years ago.

The Shield and Ruger are available with manual safeties, a lot of casual shooters like that feature... most gun people don't.

If I had to choose one to pocket carry, it would be the Ruger hammer fired version, the old one with the long DA trigger pull.

    If I wasn't pocket carrying, I wouldn't carry a single stack... unless it was a 1911.

My choice for the SS carry is the Kahr CM40, or the Keltec P3AT. The Keltec in the pocket, the Kahr in an Holstered Tee shirt.

I have a Walther PPS m2, not my favorite.

M thanks to everyone participating in the poll. Very interesting, it's split 50/50 right now for the Ruger and the Smith. No votes for Glock. Quite different than the Glock forum.
