Cool I was going into .22 withdrawl...

It has been about 3 weeks or so since my last .22 acquisition and I was starting to get the shakes...

I was at the VA hospital in Tampa yesterday and on my way home I stopped in at a LGS on Fletcher to say hey and look around a bit. As I was moving down the counter I spotted a nice little nickel .22 pistol that I had to stop and look at.

It was a brand new nickel Bersa Thunder 22! Well, long story short, I asked him how much and we started that centuries old haggle dance! He wanted $425 for the gun plus sales tax and BC. When we were both satisfied (note I didn't say happy) I walked out with the new gun and an extra magazine for $295 OTD. Maybe not a great deal but like I said, I was satisfied. I have known the owner and purchased from his shop for more than 30 years!

Not much I can report yet except that the gun fits well in my hand and fit and finish are above average. The gun is nickel with black controls and grips. I plan on some nice wooden grips...

I shot one magazine through behind the barn with no malfunctions. Accuracy as expected at about 40 feet.

I'll do a better report when I get a chance to let it shine!

    Don

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting or shooting sports, it is about the citizens of this country having the means to protect themselves and the states from the tyranny, oppression, and misery of an over powering government. Modern rifles are a means for the citizens to stand up to an over powering government.

Really like the look of your new Bersa, nice going BangBang. I think you did well, and more importantly you scratched your .22 itch. Enjoy!

I looked at one and thought about getting it about 6 years ago in Corpus. Then, I read about the then new Ruger SR22 and that's what I ended up with, haven't been sorry. But, that's not to say the Bersas are less than desirable, I just felt the lighter weight of the Ruger fit what I wanted best.

Let us know how it works for ya. Nice looking piece, got that PPK appeal.
