    Ruger Mark IV Safety & Recall

    Looks like Ruger is experiencing accidental firing now.

    I bought the Competition version and have to send it in. Meanwhile, Taurus has my 92AFS, just got a fixed gun back from Kel-Tec, and SIG had to replace my trigger. Firearms these days just aren't made as well as the old days. I have an old Smith revolver that's 90 years old and never had a problem.

    That is the worst luck I ever heard anyone have in purchasing new guns. Other than them blowing up in the shooters face. What did you do to the universe to get cursed like that?

    That sucks, entered my serial number and my 22/45 has to go back.

    A free magazine will be cool even thou I have 9 already...fitted my MK III mags to fit my MKIV.

    Had mine go back several days ago. Not happy but there is little one can do but wait for it to get fixed.

    Then again I'll be glad when it comes back.

    Can those of you who have sent in your Mark IVs keep us updated on the turnaround times? Ruger has a tremendous respect in the market on Customer Service but I also realize a recall of this size might take a little longer than a routine service job.

    I had my eye on a Mark IV in my local gun shop and just glad I was a little more patient in purchasing one.

    I received my return box on Monday, June 26th, stuck my lower in the box, and the box in the mailbox on Tuesday the 27th. I forgot to write down the tracking number so I don't know when it actually arrived at Ruger. I was hoping to get it back this week since last week was a short week but I got an email Monday that they were just then receiving it for repair. I guess I will have to wait until next week to get it back.

    Update- I didn't get an email letting me know it was on its way but my lower was in my mailbox just now when I got home, along with the free magazine, and a letter from the President & CEO thanking me for sending it in. I don't think the trigger feels too much different than before but the safety makes a nice snick noise when changing it from safe to fire and vice-versa.

    WOW! A 16 day turnaround (including weekends and a holiday) for an update/recall repair job, which included issuance of a free magazine, should speak volumes for their CS rep - letter or no letter from the Pres/CEO!!
