    Finally the Canik

I picked this up a week or so ago, then started researching an optic before posting about it. I settled on the Vortex Venom, it seems to have the most features, for a reasonable price.

The gun shoots great, the trigger is excellent* (more on that later), the build quality is very nice. It's hard to tell what the machining finish is, as these are coated guns, not sure what the coating is, but t seems durable enough.

The two-tone finish looks very nice, the grip has a fair amount of grip to it, although not enough for me...added grip tape.

The sights are nice, fiber optic front with a U notch rear. The fiber could be a little bigger, but it works well and is easy to see. I replaced the original (with an extra piece that came with the gun), to leave a larger ball on the end, this was a pretty good improvement.

The gun comes optic ready with 4 mounting plates, depending on which optic you choose. It also has a "charging handle", I have no use for this, but if you have a difficult time racking the slide, it may be fine.

    * The trigger is hard to get used to, it is light, 3.5-4 lbs. and the reset is short. This combination caused me to have several shots break, when I wasn't expecting them. This would be a great trigger for the rapid shooting styles, but IMO not so much for the bullseye crowd. I think it's a combination of the blade safety and the light weight of the trigger pull with no creep.

The Vortex Venom is a great optic for these guns, it has 11 brightness settings and an auto setting. The auto setting dims or brightens depending on the surrounding light.
If you have aging eyes, or struggle focusing on your sights, I highly recommend an optic.

My son and I have put a couple hundred through it, no failures of any kind. A real pleasure to shoot.

I've liked the Canik guns, but the didn't offer me anything I didn't already have... until this optic ready variant.

The grip is smaller than I'd like, but I can live with it. I really didn't do a very good job covering the features of this gun, I'll work on that tomorrow.

Looks like a very neat competition oriented gun.
I think it'd be stuck into open class considering the porting and optic, which is a very competitive category. But as a fun range gun and casual competition, looks to be a winner.
