have the Fever for a Uberti Outlaw 1875

I would appreciate someome telling me how bad a gun this is so I can get rid of wanting this gun. I think the gun itself is a work of art. Not sure how it shoots, but it seems to be calling me. Maybe my Taurus Gaucho is lonely. I like reloading for the 45 colt and I think I can double the shooting fun with this Uberti. Any comments on the Uberti 1875.

Uberti makes good products and their copy of the Remington 1875 should be fun, fun, fun to shoot. Sorry I don't have anything to say that might discourage you from this purchase.

A lot of the current crop of western movies use Uberti repros. They are also popular with CASS.

I don't know about the Uberti 1875 but I have a Uberti Rolling Block in 45-70. I only shoot black powder load in it though. I read about some problems with soft steel and high pressure loads that gave me some concern but I still have a blast with the black powder. (Pun intended)

A shooting buddy of mine has a .38 Special or .357 Uberti -- not sure which model -- and I thought it was a pretty nice shooter when we wnet to the range. I managed about a two-inch group @ 25 yards from a rest. Lighter than a Ruger Blackhawk, pretty nice trigger. I'm not a big fan of color case or the fixed sights -- I prefer regular blued and adjustable sights -- but if the price were right on a Uberti, I think I could get over those "character flaws," especially with the short barrel and bird's head grip.

I looked over several uberti wheelguns and while I would buy a couple of them I would shy away from others. Be sure to inspect it thoroughly and while they are colt like they are not exactly colt, even though uberti supplies frames to colt. There are several firms that import italian single actions and the quality all comes down to the finish work. I hear cimmaron arms has a staff here that takes the imported pieces and hand fits them to better tolerances.

+1 on Uberti making a quality product. I have black powder and cartridge revolvers by Uberti, and they are all top notch pistols.

I'm afraid that shooting single action revolvers is like shooting 1911's. Once you start buying them, you always have to get "just one more".

I love the old style single action revolver. It's all I can do to stay away from them. I had two, now have one. I try not to look at 'em, or they'll start callin' me.
