A good review of this firearm with a comparison to a Glock 19 https://shootersmagazine.com/cz-p-07...y-knows-about/

It would appear that the sad tale of CBC owning Brazil's firearms with the hostile take-over of Taurus market was a bit over stated. CZ won the bid, and will build and operate a factory in Brazil. What happens after the bid is fulfilled is anyone's guess.

Interesting pistol, and another shot to Taurus. Hope this does not impact cost of guns here in the US.

The CZ forums and Angus at CZ Customs have been buzzing about the Brazilian factory for about a year now as it will supposedly free up their European operation for increased out put of their most popular models.

Actually, Taurus hasn't been the official sidearm of the Brazilian Armed Forces for a while. It was a 1911A1 called the Model 973, in 9x19. They are also using the M975, which was originally a Beretta Model 92 made in Brazil. Since then, they have given the same number to the PT92. I also found several references to the Police of several Districts using the PT100.

Brazil was also an early user of the Colt 1911A1 in .45 ACP, so the idea that foreign arms are a better choice than Brazilian arms has a long history there. Note though, that they are requiring that a plant be built in Brazil, just as they did with Beretta.

This is a common thing they bid for outside contracts with the understanding they have to build a local plant. gets new industry o Brazil . Thats also how Taurus picked up a Beretta plant real cheap in Brazil. Chamber of commerce in USA do the same thing when they want to buy something they contact several companies for bids then tell them they need to join because they have to giver preference to members 1st. Used to piss me off since we joined when we opened in 1982
