proud new owner Mil pro gen 3

I have yet to fire it,but was lucky enough to pick it up at a steal (299.00).
I have completed quite a lot of research before I purchased through various brands. I could not keep from coming back to this one in particular. I am not affraid of the trigger as my mini14 has similar take up and very little if no over travel is nice.

A brief inspection before purchase looked impressive (visual quality) and after a 10 sec. disassemble I was pleasantly surprised at how clean it was compared to both my mini 14 and savage 17hmr ,all three purchased brand new.The ramp seems to have a very highly polished ramp which is a nice touch not to mention very clean machining on all surfaces.

I completed a decent degrease, lube, and clean. The slide is nice and smooth and noticeable slide release ease of use afterwards being left handed and operating with index finger.

looking forward to running a few hundred break in rounds this weekend.Overall very please so far.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the MilPro! Is it a 9mm, .40 or .45?

I believe it's the PT111 from your screen name.

it's a 9mm. went with cheaper to shoot. I wanted a .40 but the cost is similar to .223
been looking for a level 3 Serpa holster that will fit.The H&K p2000 full size is very similar, just longer.

thanks everyone. This is actually my first pistol purchase. The odd thing is it's marked PT111 CA. My understanding is it meets CA's drop standards, however it came with 2-12 rd mags which I thought they were limited to 10rd.Is this a new standard to keep the product line smaller.
My family is partial to Ruger,XD,SW. But I found the Taurus to fill a gap between the more expensive and under rated in it's price rage.
will post a follow up when i get a little range time.

I think the previous owner or the gun shop, being in a State that does not have the 10rd limit, had replaced the mags before they sell it.

Taurus site according to the serial nubers says its 12rd.I may be misunderstanding the CA part. I have read that it indicates compliance, but also read it is DOA instead of da/sa.
is there a way to tell the difference. The site may be a little misleading or not clear on what that really means.

For a holster, I like my Kydex/leather from Foxx. Google it.
